Liverpool City Region have developed an initiative, the Digital Inclusion Network, to tackle this problem. Their website explains why this is important:
"Hundreds of thousands of individuals across LCR are 'digitally excluded'. This means they may not have access to the internet, the right equipment, appropriate digital skills, or be able to afford to go online. Enabling individuals to digitally take part in their communities, engage with family, or access online support services (such as NHS Digital or Government Services) is essential for ensuring our residents can make the most of a modern digital life."

Helping You Online
This is a guide to help individuals get started with digital technology. It is available from libraries. It can be downloaded (use the link on this page: https://www.liverpoolcityregion-ca.gov.uk/digital-inclusion). It also details the support available across Liverpool City Region. We have a very small number available for distribution. Please contact us if you are unable to get a copy from the library. -
Face to Face support
Southport Library have signed up as part of the Digital Inclusion Network and the services offered at Southport Library include IT help, online resources, internet / wifi connection and one to one support.
