WELCOME TO SOUTHPORT HOMEWATCH ASSOCIATION

Southport Homewatch Association exists to support the creation, and running, of Homewatch Schemes in the Southport area.
A Homewatch Scheme brings together a group of neighbours who want to:

  • Reduce the likelihood of becoming victims of crime

  • Get to know their neighbours better

  • Help to build a safer, stronger, more active local community

  • Help to combat isolation and support vulnerable households in their street

NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH

Southport Homewatch Association operates under the umbrella of the national Neighbourhood Watch network. 

Scheme Leaders (known as Coordinators in Neighbourhood Watch) and Members are encouraged to join Ourwatch (the Neighbourhood Watch web-based organization). Registration on the Ourwatch website is not a pre-condition of running a Homewatch Group.

MERSEYSIDE POLICE:

Southport Homewatch works closely with the Citizens In Policing unit based in Merseyside Police HQ in Liverpool.

The Southport Homewatch office is located within the Police station in Albert Rd, Southport.

 Committee members who handle member personal details undergo second level Police vetting.
